• Located just outside the Washington, D.C. beltway, this infill site has been one of our most challenging sites to date. The lot configuration for this home was a triangle, thus limiting the house in scale and design convention. Once again, using multiple exterior materials and front façade elements we could break down the elevation into small parts. The house then stepped back along the side angle to the rear of the house and the main family room space in the rear of the house was indeed a triangle. Dealing with limited square footage, the traditional living room was discarded for a small parlor, the kitchen / family room was combined into one large great room, and an additional bedroom, bathroom and loft space was built into the main roof of the house.
